Many users choose to switch off the automatic script soloring to accelerate the work in
D7's rather slow-acting script editor.
However, anybody who's working cross-platform (on both MacOS and Windows) should not do so under any circumstances.
Otherwise high-ascii-characters like German umlauts or the line continuation characters are falsified by changing the platform. They get replaced by other special characters, which prevents the successful compilation of the script text.


So stay away from changing the default setting 'Enable' in File/Preferences/Script/Auto Coloring.

Director 8.0 Update
This Behavior/Bug still occurs in Director 8.0.
